Am I Wrong?

What:
Romper- Self Made
Belt- H&M
Shoes- Aldo
Bangles- Self Made (Fabric Bangles DIY)

Rompers are so easy to wear...I'm still a little wary about some...but I quite like this one..I will admit I felt a little strange wearing it to town...especially with these shoes because they are so trendy..I felt like I maybe was wearing too maybe trends at once.  Next time I will just wear cute sandals I think....and a wider belt.

OK this next bit is completely unrelated to this outfit....

Today I came across a comment on this outfit on my weardrobe account that really threw me off guard...if I don't like how someone has worn an item/outfit I don't comment (If you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all...right???)   But then maybe by putting my outfit out there gives people the right to comment however they choose.

So here is the offending comment...

"The vest is'nt a match for the look, its a more elequent vintage look and cant be pulled off with the shirt and sandals together. overall its nice and casual."

And I replied...(I don't know if I should have now...I was quite offended at the time and felt the need to defend myself...)

"ummmm...I didn't ask for your opinion...I think it is perfectly acceptable to mix together dressier items with more casual items....this outfit is just me dressing down a lace item...people do it ALL the time...I don't mean to be rude...but I found your comment to be extremely rude..."

I don't think she will even get my response because I don't think there is a "reply" option..so I just posted on my post...but the thing is I don't think this person was trying to be rude because she had left a nice comment on a different outfit of mine...I guess I'm just in shock because this is the first actual negative opinion I have received since I started Fashion Blogging.  I'm sure that others have had negative opinions at times (hey I know that not everyone has the same sence of style as myself)..I just figure there are somethings that are better left unsaid. By all means please tell me if I look ridiculou though...just say it in a very nice way!!

I should probably mention that I truly loved the outfit I was wearing in that post...and I'm not posting this so that you guys will reassure me that it was a good outfit...the reason I posted the comment is because I don't think it is right for someone to tell another person that they CAN'T wear a clothing item in a certain way...because I CAN wear it however I want...it's my clothes and I'll do whatever I want with it!!
OK all I'm saying is that she could have worded her comment differently...something like "I would love to see that vest with a more vintage inspired outfit"

Haha...ok so now I'm starting to think I sound like a crazy person after all the venting I've done in the past few weeks....I swear I'm not crazy...maybe just slightly...my excuse?  My Hubby is 13 hours away...and I've only seen him twice in the past 3 months...I think that's enough reason to make a person go insane right?!  The exciting news though....he will be home on Friday for a few days...and I am counting down the days!!!
Also in more exciting news on Friday night Vyla took 2 unassisted steps....slowly but surely she is getting closer to actual walking!!

Ugh the nerve of some people!! I agree, the power of suggestion is always better than criticism!

On another note, its nice to see you finally wore your bowling shoes! (And yes, I am allowed to harass you a little bit more than anyone else because after all... We are family!!) I have to say they are growing on me! I'm liking the shoes a lot more than when you originally showed me them!! And the romper, LOVE IT! You look wonderful!

I'm so envious that you know how to sew and make your own clothes. I want to learn SO BAD. I sit staring at sewing machines in stores for hours but always get too scared to start. I just have no idea where to being!

Where did you learn?!

If you have any advice for me I'd love to hear it,

I love the romper!

Obviously someone needs to think outside the box and yes I've had the odd comment where people have not said something very nice and its quite shocking. If I don't like an outfit I don't blast that at that person, we just have different taste and I certainly would never leave a mean comment! I like your casual outfit with your pretty vest, I've also done outfits like that!
Also, adore that romper!

Your rant is totally understandable. I don't see anything wrong with that particular outfit. I actually like how you added the lace vest. It made the casual outfit looks dressier, but still appropriate for an everyday look :)

Negative comments are inevitable in the fashion blogging world. I've had my share as well. Not too extreme, but enough to tick me off. The positive comments are much more important, right? :)
Just take a deep breath and move on :)

Anyway, you look absolutely amazing in this romper. The color, the fit, the style, everything is perfect! And I'm glad to know your hubby will be home for a few days. It's time for some family reunion :D
