Blacks and Greys

Day Four

What:
Lace Top- Self Made
Scarf- Present
Belt- Target
Skirt- Suzy Shier
Tights- Ardenes
Boots- Spring

Last time I did the 30 for 30 challenge I worked with a very different colour pallet...it was a lot of earth tones and "Fall colours"....this time I still have some of those, but there's also a lot of black, white, and grey.  Sometimes I'm afraid that wearing lots of black and grey would appear too drab and boring, so when I included my items in those shades I made sure that each piece was a bit interesting.

I really like how this outfit turned out with the subtle pattern mixing (flowers on the lace and the leopard print scarf) and the texture contrast of the chunky knit skirt and the lace top.
Lace is quite often used as a dressy fabric, but I didn't want this outfit to be too dressed up, so I wore my cute heeled hiker boots.
Of course I had to wear purple tights so I had a bit of colour in my outfit!

What are your thoughts on black and grey?  Do you wear it head to toe? or add some colour to the mix?

I think black and grey can look good, it entirely depends on the items, and the tights stop it looking funereal. Admittedly so does the scarf and belt lol. Overall a very nice outfit.

Love, love, love this. I think you hit your 30 for 30 stride with this outfit. Like you said, the textures and patterns keep it interesting, and the singular color palette keeps it cohesive.

I have a tendency to be a neutrals whore, so an outfit of greys and blacks is rockstar in my book.

Keep on keepin' on!

I love black and grey with random pops of color.

Love the purple tights. Colored tights are the best things ever.

black & greys = winners in my book. the patterns keep it interesting, and pops of colour help if there's no texture or pattern. you, however, are able to mix & match it all so well! this is a *great* outfit.

Lace and animal prints are sexy in their own right, but the way you mixed them here is not overkill - impressive! Maybe because you kept them neutral.

Every piece is different and interesting indeed. Love the idea of tying the scarf that way. I do it similar but over the shoulders too this is more unique and showing off the lace arms of the top underneath is brilliant.

Love the lace and the leopard (and I wore that combination today too). I love how your purple tights give this a colour lift and the belted scarf looks fantastic. Your waist looks so tiny.
