Falling Short

Day Twenty Two

What:
Blouse- Self Made
Lace Top- Self Made
Belt- Target
Skirt- Suzy Shier
Tights- Walmart
Boots- BCBG

This 30 for 30 challenge is turning out to be just that, a challenge.  Last time around it was SO easy....so I'm not sure why I'm struggling so much...I mean I know how to do it...and I still have so many great outfit ideas within my remix items.
I was trying to think of what I am doing wrong this time, and I think I know where I've went wrong.  The problem lies in mychoices for "bottoms".  All the skirts I chose are a little too dressy for my lifestyle.  Pencil skirts and maxi skirts are not practical for everyday wear (playdates and grocery store shopping)....I'm not too crazy about the wool pants I made...and then the other options are jeans.

I don't know about you guys, but I have "blogger guilt" if I wear jeans too many times in a short period of time.  Basically I feel the pressure to keep things new and interesting.  I like this pressure though because it keeps me from falling into a rut, but when the weather is -30*C it makes it very hard to get dressed in anything other than jeans.

When I'm not doing the 30 for 30 challenge this isn't such a big deal because I have no problem skipping a few days of outfit posts.  This time around I'm only posting 5 outfits a week, which is causing this 30 day challenge to span over 40 days.  40 days is a long time to go without the rest of my clothes!!  I feel like my outfit creativity is falling short as a result of everything I've mentioned above.
Is anyone else having the same/similar problem?

Thank goodness I have Arizona to look forward to next month!!

PS.  I still have room for a few more guest bloggers.  Don't be shy, email me your ideas!!
(Thank you everyone who has emailed me, I'm trying to figure a few things out before I respond.)

PPS.  Is anyone else having trouble with Disqus?  I had to remove it from my page for the time being.

This looks wonderful. I love the layering here and the boots are super duper. I don't know how you do it in the snow.

I know what you mean about this being harder this time. I foolishly chose 2 skirts. 2! What was I thinking? So I am lacking in the bottom department too (if you'll excuse my way of phrasing that!). Hang in there, I know you'll do loads more amazing looks.

Hi, I have been following your blog for just a short bit and I just read about your remix issue. I have found that I did not include enough bottoms and feel like I am dragging this thing out way beyond the deadline. I tried to get creative with it and that was fun but I am a little stuck. I need to spice it up a little and dive into my Winter into Spring wardrobe. Have a great day!! Dawn

Finally I am able to comment, first I wanna say that I really love these boots. Second I really love these boots. Haha!
On a real note, I know the feeling of being stuck in a rut. I lost two pieces of my wardrobe and I never got to wear them so I only have 28 pieces to choose from. I also work in a place where I cant wear skirts and nice shoes so it cut short my outfit choices.
I say add a bright accessory or wear an accessory in a funky way.
Good Luck I hope you succeed!

I think -30 earns you the right to wear jeans as many times as you please!

I'm with you lady. It's not that I don't have outfits. I do. It's also not that I don't love all of my items. I most certainly do. But this weather is slowing killing my desire to wake up in the morning, much less get dressed - especially in something that might take some amount of effort. I'm so ready for Spring. You hear that Spring? You're welcome ANYtime around these parts.

Keep on keepin on. You're in the home stretch!

exoh,
Elizabeth

It is going to take me a while to get used to your blonde hair. I still keep thinking I am in the wrong blog at first. Love this blouse. You did so good styling it.
