Follow the Leader

What:
Dress- H&M
Scarf- TJ Maxx
Tights- Walmart
Boots- Winners

I seriously did not think my tights were so bright...apparently I was wrong.

Can you believe how much snow is still on the ground?!?

I'm sure this has happened to every blogger out there, so I want to know your thoughts....

I'm constantly gaining followers, and then losing them.  I had a girl comment a few days ago that she was my newest follower and hoped I would follow her too (ok this has happened too many times to count).  I didn't end up following her (any of them), because I believe in following a blog because you want to, not because someone's asking you to.  So she is now no longer a "follower" of mine.

Here are my thoughts...

I don't have enough time in the day to "follow" and read every single good blog that I come across...and in return I don't expect every person who has read and enjoyed my blog to "follow" mine either.  My biggest frusteration with the blog world is the "numbers game".  Of course I like seeing my numbers go up (doesn't everyone?), but I would much rather them climb for genuine reasons as opposed to people strictly following me so that I will do the same in return.  I try my best to visit the blogs of people who have commented...of course some days I'm better at in than others....but the truth is there isn't enough time in the day for me to read everyone blog...I really wish there was.  I actually do not even bother checking out a persons blog if they have asked me to follow them, but if they asked me to check it out, sure why not?

What's your thoughts?  Would you follow back?

You said it loud and clear, Nat. I totally agree with your stand. I've received so many comments just like that. I don't even bother checking their blogs, I just ignore them. I know that as bloggers, we need to put ourselves out there to gain exposure. The easiest way is to leave comments on other blogs. But come on, put a little thought into it. Don't just say "Love your blog, follow me!" kinda thing. It's trash.

I've never asked my readers to follow me. I want people to follow my blog because they like what they see. I'm sure you feel the same way. And that's why I'm your follower :)
