My Weekend Project

I have had a love for bell bottoms for as long as I can remember.  I bought my first pair in grade 7 and I'm pretty sure I wore them at least 5 days a week.  I have always been drawn to 70's inspired clothes, so of course I was thrilled that all the Spring runways were filled with references from that era!!

This weekend I decided that I wanted to make myself the perfect fitting pair of bell bottoms.  I had stocked up on some denim fabric a while back knowing that one day I would get around to making a few pairs of jeans (I had made a few pairs in the past).  I drafted the pattern so that they would sit about an inch below my natural waist, and I made sure to make them extra long so that I can wear them with rediculously high platforms.  I didn't bother to add front pockets or a back yoke, but I did sew on regular back pockets to the jeans.

I've (almost) finished making them, and they fit me perfectly...the only thing left to do is the hem which I will do after I have washed them (incase they shrink in the wash).

I can't wait to wear them and show you the finished results!!
